When it comes to getting your marketing done, you\u2019ve got three real choices.<\/p>

First, you can do it yourself. You know it\u2019s important. But let\u2019s be honest. You\u2019re already busy running your business, serving customers, and putting out fires. So marketing slips to the bottom of the list. It only gets done halfway, if at all. Not because you don\u2019t care, but because there are only so many hours in the day.<\/p>

Second, you can hire someone on staff. Sounds simple, but here\u2019s the problem:<\/p>

if someone was any good at marketing, they\u2019d cost you a fortune. So you end up hiring someone less expensive. Which means they\u2019re not that good at marketing. Which means they end up costing a fortune too\u2014just in a slower, more painful way.<\/p>

The third option is the smart one. It\u2019s the same reason people come to you. If they tried to do what you do, it would take more time, cost more money, and the results wouldn\u2019t be as good. That\u2019s why folks don\u2019t do their own dentistry, or try \u201chome chiropractic.\u201d They come to a pro.<\/p>

Marketing works the same way. An expert can do it faster, better, and for less than what it would take you to figure it out yourself.<\/p>

Of course we all know the problem here is most agencies are flimsy at best. The only way to know who is who is from their past results. So always look for happy clients and successful programs. That\u2019s the only way to tell – everything else is suspect.<\/p>
